Why didn’t anyone tell me? The best Christmas present was a ‘weighted blanket’. Hey, I didn’t even know there was such a thing. What do you associate with ‘comfort’? For me, like many others, weight is important. I like a heavy watch, a heavy camera, and, now, a heavy blanket. And does it work? If by, “Does it work?” you mean comforting, yes, it does! It’s my new Comfort Blanket. And if you also mean, “Do you get a good night’s sleep? YES!

I know it won’t work for everyone, but ‘sleep’ is such an issue for so many of us, I thought I’d let you know in case you’ve not heard of weighted blankets. (Not all weighted blankets are made equal, so if you’d like some guidance: https://blog.cosyhousecollection.co.uk/the-best-weighted-blankets-of-2022-a-buyers-guide)

I ask you, “What do you associate with ‘comfort’?”  And, by happy happenstance, one of my books has a huge list of ‘comfortable’ words and phrases. I thought that reading them may even make you feel comfortable… and I’m going to record them in ASMR style too. Let’s bathe in comforting words for a few unhurried moments…

Soothing… snug… comfy… roomy… airy… cheerful… peaceful… relaxed… relaxing… calm… calmer… unhurried… at ease… a haven… tranquil… serene… friendly… welcoming… homely… warm… warmth… smooth… satisfying… snuggle up with… cuddle up with… cuddly… hug… gently… kind… kindness… cushiony… Soft… baby-soft… velvety… fleecy… furry… fuzzy… bask in… luxuriate in… bliss… abundance… filled… toasty-warm… comfortable. Yes, that feels just right, simply perfect.

If any of these words are working for you right now, you could share with us what else comforts you and we can see if we can borrow a sense of comfort from your experience.

I wish you a comfortable New Year.
