‘Sometimes I feel I have learnt so much from my mistakes that I might make a few more.’
This is a funny quote I heard years ago. Sometimes I feel as I get older, I keep making the same mistakes. I wish I could say I have learnt from the mistakes I made when I was young, but not always.
I avoid conflict at any cost and I want to please people. I know I am repeating myself in my previous blog.
I have a dear friend in her late eighties, she said that she likes being her age because she can say what she thinks and doesn’t let others put her down. I have around 20 years to go. Maybe I would never feel that brave.
It’s hard to share mistakes we have made in life as it is personal. It has taken me a while to realise that rushing into a relationship does not give me time to really get to know the other person. Most people can be charismatic, friendly, kind, polite etc for a little while, but it takes time to really get to know someone. Of course, I am sure we all know people, or we may be people who have got to know a person quickly and then had a long happy relationship.
So have you learnt from past mistakes? Do you, like me, repeat mistakes.?
I am interested in the process you use to learn from mistakes. If you want to share your mistakes that’s fine, otherwise just explain how you have or have not learnt from your mistakes.
