When we’re stuck, demotivated, unenthusiastic and feeling like we’re crawling through sludge, it’s hard to see the edge of it. It’s hard to see where the handhold is that might bring respite.
As scary as we think it might be, putting our eyes firmly into the next step is often the jack needed. Looking to what comes next, whether that is putting eyes on the prize, or facing difficult truths, can be a release. It can anchor us somewhere and give us a starting point.
Crawling through sludge is weighty. Picturing yourself in the next step can bring much needed oomph. You can. We can.
