If

I’m not talking about that magnificent Rudyard Kipling poem this time (but is there ever a day when that is not good?).  Today, just for a little mental health break, or perhaps a flushing out of something that could do with dilution, may I drop in if… If you could revisit one moment in your life again, which one moment would it be? You can choose to share it or not, here or in a blog. Or perhaps this is something you only revisit inside the quiet and privacy of your own thoughts.

Just for fun, I’m going to revisit playing in my childhood garden in summer when I was around 7. The heat, the quiet, being alone, lying on the grass and watching the clouds, smelling ‘sparkly’ lilac roses, listening to how water sounded when it was dribbled onto warm tarmac, all just to pass the day. If I don’t do these things now, isn’t it great that I did them then. It was limitless and I pottered without a friend but was never bothered or bored by that.

Revisiting something lovely gives us a mind break. And don’t worry about choosing the ‘right’ thing. You can choose something else next time. This play, this rest, is limitless.

My apologies if this encourages you to revisit something which ultimately brings a sadness because you can’t have it again. I hope you might somehow have needed to do this too.
