Each day we face some sort of challenge.
Big or small.
What if you can’t hit the target?
What if you can’t strike the ball so it hits the back of the net?
Make the goals taller.
Or wider. Thinner. Or smaller.
In other words, do what you need to do to make the hoped-for happening happen.
It’s not cheating.
In yoga (my practice has been sporadic these last 2 or 3 years) if our bodies are not yet ready for a position, there are many ways to adapt it so that the vital piece can still be worked, regardless of what the surrounding furniture is capable of. Maybe we just reach to lean on a block or two instead of touching the floor… the back and legs still stretch in the same way and the head still gets its nutritious blood flow.
Today, I’ll take my own advice. Let’s not stop because we’re defeated, let’s move the goalposts.
