Oh, to be that age again!!

I wonder how often you have that conversation with others or even yourself or hear it, wistfully imagining an age in your past that you would relive again!

Of course, many wish we knew what we know now but in a younger more energetic body.

Not me. I never want to be a teenager again or in my twenties trying to look after young children but being young myself. Friends said they loved their teens but I was overweight, unpopular and pimply and I had no confidence.

I lived in an era when slim quiet girls with blonde hair were extremely popular. I had dark brown hair, loud and was never slim.

I wonder if I am in a minority. I feel getting older has its challenges especially since my partner is 13 years older than me and has an illness.

I do like being older in many ways. I often feel more curious to enjoy the many wonders of life. It is being silly with grandchildren or smelling flowers or any small thing that makes me laugh or smile. I know people think I am childish wearing colourful leggings or t-shirts with funny slogans. I try not to apologise as much as I used to. I do not apologise for who I am, how I behave and what I wear.

I find people feel the best compliment someone can get is to be told they look much younger than their age.

Moodscopers, do you have an age you want to go back to if there was a time machine?

When would that be? Would you want the life knowledge you now have but to be at a younger age?

Is there an age you are looking forward to? Maybe you would like to retire soon, or you never want to finish your work.
