Reflections On Compassion

“Compassion washes away my anger and replaces it with love.” Yvette Jane ‘Mindfulness for everyday’

Compassion and kindness are intrinsically linked. Compassion can be a nebulous feeling but it is made tangible by showing kindness.

Compassion is a feeling reflected by showing kindness. Active listening to someone also reveals compassion. We reveal our compassion to someone, a cause or charity by showing unfailing kindness and a generosity of spirit. Looking for and seeing the best in a person. Being there for the person at their moments of difficulty and darkness. Accompanying them on their journey through rugged terrain.

Kirpal Singh stated about kindness: “Kind hearts are the gardens. Kind thoughts are the roots. Kind words are the blossoms. Kind deeds are the fruits.” and another quote about kindness from an unknown author: “Kindness has a beautiful way of reaching down into a weary heart and making it shine like the rising sun.”

I would like to acknowledge Tegs blog from Saturday 16th March which has helped me to consolidate my thoughts and provided me with useful quotes to supplement my reflections.
