I asked myself this question earlier, almost like a review of the year which encompasses both positive and negative experiences. I like to look back on the passing of this time, to reflect, review and re-order things where they need to be. I'm going to list some of mine and would be interested to hear yours. They are in no particular order.
I'd like to do more of what I enjoy. To see friends more and socialise without feeling anxious beforehand.
To doing a new relaxing fitness regime (probably yoga).
To try and drink less alcohol and substitute it with smoothies.
To finally sort out what pensions we have and get more in control of my finances.
To fit more time into self-care and really commit to it and try new things to facilitate good mental wellbeing.
To explore more of our area and make more opportunities for unique wildlife spotting.
To get out in our boat and have adventures on the sea.
To open up more opportunities for singing live.
To grow more vegetables and herbs in my own garden and build upon some of last year's success.
To stop letting small things be the straw that breaks my back and to not rise to irritation within myself and from others.
To begin my novel that has lived in my head for too long.
To write more poetry and perhaps self publish.
Some positive things for me have been moving to a new house with an amazing garden and growing my own herbs and vegetables (moving was extremely stressful but the outcome is worth it). Also singing in our local pub, getting up on stage and performing with amazing musicians and making new friends through music. Some negative things have been up and down anxiety levels and my individual reactions to stress with what seemed like stop start situations and a wavering workload both professionally and personally requiring more resilience than I possibly had. Much sadness with home-help clients passing (unavoidable but still heartbreaking and something which I honestly didn't take into account) and the fact that both my jobs involve loss (sounds obvious but it takes its toll).
I'd love to know yours if you feel able to share.
