We’re always looking for ways to enhance the Moodscope experience for our members and have recently introduced some new features which we detail below. I know we have asked before, but if there is anything that comes to mind that you’d love to see, please add it in the comments below or email us on support@moodscope.com.
Blog comments - edit/delete
Members asked for the facility to edit or delete their comments on the Moodscope blog. We have now introduced this. You will see the edit/delete options below your comment. If you want to change it once you’ve posted it, click on the edit option, change your comment and click on the edit button to the right. If you need to change it again, you can do. If you wish to delete the comment just click on delete.
Notification of new comments on the Moodscope blog
We’ve introduced email notifications to let members know when a new comment has been added to a blog post to ensure you don’t miss any additional ones that may be added late in the day and don’t have to keep logging in to check. These notifications only go to those members that have commented on a blog post.
Obviously we don’t want to clog up your email inboxes so if you are finding the emails are overwhelming you you are able to turn off the service. To turn off the notification emails go to My Profile page, click on Settings. Under Profile details at the top, click on the yellow Edit Profile button. At the bottom of the Edit Profile page you will see a tick box next to ‘Would you like to receive notifications about new comments?’ Untick this box and the notifications will cease. If you decide you’d like to start receiving them again, just click on the tick box again.
Moodscope blog search facility
We’ve always had a search facility in the Moodscope blog section which you can find on the ‘Read our blog’ page. Previously this only searched the titles of the blog posts which wasn’t great if the title of the blog posts didn’t mention exactly what the blog post was about. To make the search facility even more helpful, we’ve now reprogrammed it so it searches all the titles and content of blog posts - over 4,750 and counting! So now if you wish to search for say, ‘Sleep’ it will bring up all blog posts that mention sleep.
What do you think of this feature - yes or no?
We know that a lot more of our members read the daily blog posts than comment on them. This is fine as not everyone needs or wants to comment, but they may want to show their appreciation for a blog post or a blog comment without having to add their own.
Therefore we were thinking of adding a ‘Like’ button.
We know that this could be a positive feature, but we don’t want it to turn in to a negative one which is why we are asking for your thoughts. Would you find it helpful to know your blog post or comment was liked by other members or, if you didn’t receive many likes, would you be disappointed? Do you think it might lessen the amount of the very helpful comments we receive each day as some people may find it easier to just click a box?
We’d love to know of any other features you’d like to see.
