What is one of your favourite attributes about your current ‘self’? My favourite is zero loss of my childlike curiosity, and sense of awe and wonder. I still walk about and have awesome “Wow!” and “Aha!” experiences.
One of our local farm shops sells a range of frozen pastries that you at least to play some part in bringing to fruition. By far my greatest delight so far has come from the Pain au Chocolat. In its frozen state, it looks like it’s been used as a speedbump. Flat, lifeless, inert.
This wonder of world cuisine needs to ‘prove’ itself overnight. This is where it defrosts at room temperature and magic happens. The artist-formerly-known-as ‘Speed Bump’ becomes an Airship full of chocolate passengers! It expands to at least 4x the size as the yeast is energised. Then you baste it with egg, pop it in the oven, and let the scent of fresh baking fill your kitchen. Oh, and the taste… ooo la la! C'est Magnifique!
In the spirit of Forest Gump, I would suggest to us that you and I are like a Pain au Chocolat. We’ve had some of our dreams frozen. They are not gone, just in stasis… in a state of suspended animation. But give them space and a little warmth, and leave them in the unseen overnight, given time they come back to life – and then some!
Egg is a symbol of resurrection. Take the ‘proven’ dream and baptise it with egg. And then introduce the fire of your enthusiasm. The result? Magic. Magnificent magic!
What dream would you like to bring up to room temperature to let it ‘prove’ itself?
